Recently we needed to open a bank account from the Czech Republic. We tried to contact most of traditional bank but there is no chance. There are some options that you may visit US embassy to verify your identity or visit European branch of some US bank. However this is mostly available for only big companies. We could upload passports online and our cards was delivered to our US address. It is an easy environment, but it works. And you may see that some of the most famous US start-up investors has invested in this idea.
They were super fast – we had an account in one week. What takes some time are international money transfers (IBAN/SWIFT) – about 10 working days and you pay for incoming transfer, but still we are very happy with Mercury so far!
